Family Time on the Water

One of the big reasons I purchased a Rhodes 19, is because it is a great family boat.  Seaworthy, easy to sail, fun to race and a great learning boat.  In fact I learned to sail on a Rhodes 19 at the Courageous Sailing Center in Boston Harbor. We had a great few days of sailing with the entire family.  My oldest daughter, Zara, tied her first bowline.  It was a beautiful day.  Light but steady winds, without much heeling, but we were moving.  We have taken to the strategy of sailing with the girls when the wind is light so we ease them into heeling on small boats. After the sail we bummed around on the boat, swimming, hanging on to some floating fenders, and holding a jumping contest. Here are a few great photos from the day:
