2013 Rhodes19 Summer Racing

Well it was a good summer for racing.  I participated in two racing series this summer, Rhodes 19 Tuesday night racing at Courageous Sailing and the July racing series on Menemsha Pond put on by Sail MV.  Both are great organizations, tons of fun, and community focused. At Courageous, I was partnered with Dylan Callahan, a longtime sailing buddy.  I unfortunately missed a lot of the races this year because of work travel, but we still managed to take 2nd in the fleet over all.  I managed to pull of a bullet, and a few second places while at the helm, but all the credit goes to Dylan this season for showing up for nearly every race and competitively sailing in everyone.  Way to go Dylan. At SailMV, my partner in crime was no other than my uncle, Lang Gerhard.    Lang is a full time MV resident and we had a great time taking 3rd overall in the July series on the Three Sisters.  As with any racing, there was great yelling, laughing, camaraderie and post-race beer celebrations. Can’t wait for next season!!!
